Committee Recommendations (4)
The Surrey & Sussex Medicines Safety & Quality Committee have agreed the adoption of the former Sussex patient information leaflet to support patients prescribed generic dapagliflozin. The leaflet provides patients with important information regarding safety and side effects and what to do to help prevent them.
The Medicines Safety & Quality Committee have produced a template letter to support patients who are travelling abroad with their diabetes medication and associated devices e.g. injectables, pumps, meters and other consumables.
The letter advises against:
- the scanning / x-ray of diabetes medicines / equipment
- placing diabetes medicines / equipment in the hold of an aircraft where it may be subject to low temperatures
