Non-Clinical Profile : NHS Surrey & Sussex ICB - Wound Management Prescribing Committee

The Surrey & Sussex Integrated Care Board Area Prescribing Committee (APC) approved the Terms of Reference for the Surrey and Sussex Wound Management Prescribing Committee, which will operate as a formal subcommittee of the Surrey and Sussex Area Prescribing Committee.

The Committee noted that the Wound Management Committee would provide specialist oversight of wound care formulary decisions, supporting consistent prescribing practice, clinical effectiveness and value across Surrey and Sussex. Discussion focused on committee membership, including representation from acute providers, and the importance of maintaining appropriate links with commissioning arrangements where formulary decisions may have wider service implications.

Whilst the APC supported the proposed governance arrangements, it was recognised that the operation of the new subcommittee should be reviewed after an initial
period to ensure that membership, voting arrangements and reporting structures remained appropriate.
