NOTE - Surrey Heartlands primary care prescribers (GPs, NMPs) will not be requested to prescribe sedatives/anxiolytics (e.g. Diazepam) for a procedure they are not undertaking. Examples would include anxiety associated with a dental visit; a CT/MRI scan at a hospital; a minor operation undertaken by a dermatology service. It is the responsibility of the provider service to arrange the prescribing of any medication associated with the procedure or treatment as part of the 'package of care'.
