The Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System Area Prescribing Committee agreed to add buspirone to formulary for the treatment of generalised anxiety disorders and to relieve the symptoms of anxiety with or without accompanying symptoms of depression.
A Blue traffic light status was agreed whereby Primary Care may initiate on specialist mental health team recommendation.
An Information Sheet has been provided to support prescribers in primary care.
