09 Jul 25 - Surrey Heartlands Medicines Safety Committee (MSC)

The Surrey Medicines Safety Committee have made recommendations in relation to the prescribing of propranolol in anxiety. See advice in the document: Propranolol Risks in Anxiety poster.

It is recommended that existing patients should be reviewed for suitability of continued treatment, appropriateness of prescribed quantities and a consideration of toxicity risks with concurrently prescribed medicines for patients at risk of overdose or self-harm.
