The Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System Area Prescribing Committee agreed a change in traffic light status for opicapone from BLUE (with specialist team initiation) to BLUE (on specialist team recommendation), used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
COMT inhibitors are a choice of adjuvant treatment in patients who have developed dyskinesia or motor fluctuations despite optimal levodopa therapy.
